From the hotel, this path leads through the old town of Kues directly to the birthplace of Cusanus.
Nicholas of Cusa was born in Kues on the Moselle River and is considered one of the greatest figures in Western intellectual history. A large flag on the facade greets visitors to the house at Nikolausufer 49 on the Kues side of Bernkastel-Kues. The world-famous philosopher and mystic was born here in 1401. From Cusanus' birthplace, you can walk along the river promenade to Kues and across the bridge to Bernkastel-Kues (approx. 30 minutes on foot).
